Pay, rent or pass was a great idea, but I suppose not all game can be rented.
So I tried this game for about 3 hours and I have to say that it’s BULLSHIT that things get scary.
The ice part when the monsters appear only makes things obvious and expected and it’s more like a running stage where you dodge shit to go from point a to b AKA not scary at all.
After the first and second time the ice appears you always know what will pop up next and that’s a big fat minus on a silent hill game.
This is a game you rent, definitely.

Using a players psyche to influence gameplay and visual style is a fantastic idea.
I don’t like the Wii, just my personal non-fanboy opinion.
But this game seems to play on all the consoles strong points perfectly!

um no. This is still a great game and wii has many others.
It’s not a new gameplay element not being able to fight, it was used in ‘Hell Night’ (known as dark messiah in japan) which was an earlier konami game on the ps1, even by todays standards the atmosphere and scare factor pisses on other games, about time the silent hill series got the same gameplay aspects.
honestly i think that they left weapons out of the game to see if this could be a new take on the survival horror genre. Admit it, in real life you would be much more afraid of the silent hill creatures if you didn’t have something to fight them with.
i was never a Silent Hill fan i was always a Resident Evil fan. but i might get this but i hate the fact that you can’t fight. but i guess that’s the point. i can’t believe that X Play gave this a 2 out of 5 stars Lol.
The only thing that bothers me about this game is the fact it’s short. Sure it’s got the profiling system depending on the answers you give but from my understanding, the changes are only ever cosmetic and don’t change things like the enemies in any way.
I wanna see a “Pay Rent or Pass” for this one, and see the verdict.

i agree it might of been a good idea for another game but two things silent hill is known for having a weapon system to fight atleast a little but now you can only run? not so fun. second thing is the fiery hellish feel from the other games is a lot better then the cold and frozen feel (in my opinion)

Like the idea of not being able to fight in the game. Though it would be nice if you did get the odd weapon with no chance of getting any more ammo for it.
But this does look like a good game for the Wii, which is a bit of proof that if developers got their thumbs out of their arse once in a while. They can make some good looking games on the Wii

But it would be very neat if you had basic melee weapons(bottle,plank,crowbar,knife,baseball bat eventually),and that there’s at least colt gun or something,a basic gun with very little bullets in general,very hard to find as well..that serves as last line of defense.

yes but overall the wii is shit, this is the only good and orginal game coming out for wii. Nintendo only seem to rmake zelda and mario games, as well as some gimic shit for the 12 yr olds and morons.
